All About Catbird in Dallas

Atop the Thompson Hotel sits one of the poshest drinkeries in Dallas. An upscale venue, Catbird is the ideal setting for dinner and drinks on a crisp Texas night. Catbird boasts gourmet dishes and a combination of unique and classic cocktails, making for a menu sure to suit even the pickiest epicurean’s palate.

Come For the Views, Stay for the Food

Catbird’s ambiance naturally attracts guests thanks to its stunning interior with notable pieces of art and carefully curated design features. With sleek yet comfortable seating and lighting perfect for privacy, you’ll feel like you’re at home, except better.

You’re welcome to stay inside, or you can explore the expansive rooftop that features a crystal water pool and unparalleled views of the city. There’s seating available, but you may find yourself standing to snap a picture of the skyline or catch a celebrity sighting (Jamie Foxx and Jordan Belfort have partied here before).

In between the moments spent gawking at Catbird’s beauty, take a moment to indulge in the exceptional menu. It’ll be difficult to choose just one item, so you’ll be delighted to learn the dishes are meant to be shared.

The fusion menu, designed by Chef de Cuisine Jeramie Robinson, combines cuisines from around the globe, creating a list of options that’s uniquely Catbird. It’s Dallas food at its finest.

Some of the standout items include the Texas Beef Bao Buns with smoked brisket inside soft bao buns, East Coast Oysters that are accompanied by an apple-wasabi mignonette, and the Fried Brussel Sprouts that are drizzled in a honey-lime zu.

Down a Cocktail and Head to the Dance Floor

On the backside of Catbird’s food menu are outstanding drink options. The rooftop bar features a signature drink, appropriately called The Catbird, made with tequila reposado, Campari, lime, and grapefruit foam, but your eyes will be drawn to the bulk of the menu, where Catbird offers to make classic cocktails or their own version.

For instance, you can order a Lemon Drop with vodka, Cointreau, and lemon, or you can order the martini the Catbird way with rosemary vodka, Cocchi Americano, and limoncello. The only cocktail they haven’t spun? The Espresso Martini. No matter what drink you choose, your tastebuds will thank you.

After you’ve sampled a couple of cocktails, take one with you to the dance floor. Whether by a DJ or a live band, you’ll undoubtedly be entertained, and you’ll definitely lose track of time.

Arrive in Proper Attire

Catbird has a dress code, so ensure you’re dressed accordingly before arriving. Smart casual is the baseline, and they’d prefer better. Don’t let the dress code deter you, though. You’ll fit in better when you follow it, and any pictures you post will look that much greater on your feed.

At Catbird, elegance meets fun. No Dallas rooftop bar is quite like this one. With tasty Texas food and perfectly mixed cocktails, you’ll be asking yourself whether you’ve ascended to the top of the Thompson Hotel, or if you’ve gone straight to heaven.
